Microsoft announced their Robotics Studio on June 20th. I've taken a quick look at it and think I'll give it a try. The one drawback for me is it runs only on XP or Server 2003, so I need to get an XP system up and running.
That's right, I am still working with Windows 2000 (and even 98 for some older applications) so this looks like a good excuse to either upgrade one of my systems, or get something a little more powerful (read >1GH speed and 256M memory) to run XP and the Robotics Studio on.
I'm looking at robotics as a way to focus my energies, interests, and skills, so I can actually move forward with a lot of things. I'm also opening up discussions on the 68332ABB list that I moderate on Yahoo, so as to encourage more robotics discussion.

Wow, it's been a while.
I guess it has been a while since I last posted here. I guess the big news is that I am clearing out a lot of junk from my place so I can set up a nice little computer lab. Nothing fancy mind you, just enough to get back in to the swing of working with 8 and 16 bit processors.
Needless to say I am giving up my side job in techno-archaeology. I think there is a genitic reason that geeks collect junk, either that or we are in need of a life. I think it's the latter.

Starting over again.
Not much to say right now, except I'm back to using this blog for my own purposes now.
I'll be posting my thoughts on learning C, working with robotics, pursuing my interest in astronomy, and last but not least, playing around with my old Radio Shack Color Computers (and learning 6809 assembly) I'm also planning to drag out my HC11 and Ethernut boards for some projects this summer. Like most geeks, I tend to over estimate how much free time I have :-)
